Our Beginnings
Having managed care for the past 30 years and a family member requiring assistance in a Supported Independent Living home, we wanted to create an environment like no other. Seeing first hand the gaps in accessing suitable accommodation that catered for our families needs. Consulting with NDIS participants about what’s important to them to lead a purposeful and safe life in a supportive environment where choice is everything. The participant is at the centre of everything with decision making, choice and control, social activities and more. All the while having the support of dedicated staff 24/7 to work together with the person.
Our management team have a unique and diverse background to ensure the culture for both participants and staff is warm and welcoming, where we all work together. We all had a dream of creating homes where NDIS participants could live their best life and SIL Care was born.
Our Staff
Meet our Director - Donna Leckie
Having run care homes and programs for 30 years, Donna wanted to share her passion to empower people living with a disability. The core of everything Donna does has the person at the centre. Creating a world where people can thrive with their own decisions and choices about how they live their lives, with 24/7 support. Passion mixed with experience, Donna brings a robust approach to compliance, risk management, care planning, therapy and social engagement. One of Donna's favourite quotes for support workers 'Everything you do for me, you take away from me' - Maria Montessori.
Experienced and professional.
Knowing how important it is to feel safe, heard and supported, our staff have been handpicked for their person centred approach, knowledge and creativity. Maintaining a personal/professional boundary yet being part of Team YOU! This is your home and the staff that work in your home have big hearts filled with empathy and understanding. All of our staff have completed mandatory training prior to employment to ensure they are well equipped to deliver supports safely and effectively.

Our people really do care about YOU! Aside from the mandatory requirements, the team at SIL Care have a focus on community engagement, social activities, friends and family connections. They care about your social, emotional, mental health as well as activities of daily living. We really do deliver a holisitic approach to everything we do for YOU, because we genuinely care. A house is not a home without the sense of belonging, our team are devoted to ensuring you live in a happy, inclusive home.

Capacity building is so important for you to be as independent as possible. We work together with you to achieve your goals. Your home will be a Supported Independent living environment. The key words here are 'supported' and 'independent' Our staff are 'Support workers'. Supporting everything for YOU to build capacity in the skills that YOU want to improve. It may be supporting you to become more independent with daily household tasks, like laundry or cooking. Whatever your goals are we will help build your skills to meet those goals.
